In our story that follows the years you could already read something about sales figures and chart positions. We can state that the charts were reached in most European countries in 1982 - 1988 and in 1994 - 1996 with dance music made in Italy and in Japan from 1986 - 2002. Baltimora -Tarzan boy was the only big Italo act that reached the US Billboard sales charts. Others like Gazebo, Den Harrow and Spagna did well in the Euro charts.
But to give you some idea we've put on the CD/DVD that comes along with this book a lot of our own i Venti d'Azzurro charts and other local charts from Holland plus the Italian singles sales charts from 1980 - 2000 (Italo Disco productions are highlighted). Go check them out!
What records are songs are published over the years?
As a service we've put on the CD/DVD that comes along with this book a catalogue that now contains around 10.000 titles in the Italo Disco and Dance genre. In this catalogue you can also find the year the record is published, the people who wrote or arranged the song, the people who produced the song and the people who did the vocals. The list is the first attempt to be complete and we will work on this list continuously. If you want to receive the quarterly updates please mail us at gino@iventi.netand you'll receive the new
updates every three months. If we have to guess how many records were made in the era 1978 - 2012 we would guess around 20.000 titles in this genre. Italy belongs to the top 5 countries which produce and create most music together with the USA, UK and Sweden.
